What is a Savannah Cat
The Savannah Cat breed originated from the hybrid cross of a wild African Serval and a domestic cat.  Savannahs were first bred in this country in the 1980's and have grown considerably in popularity since then.  These special cats make wonderful family pets, and provide you with a much smaller and more manageable version of the exotic African serval.

Savannah Cats usually reach an average weight of around 12-17lbs, although the early generations can reach 20+.  They are typically very friendly, curious, and outgoing in nature.  These cats receive the same veterinary care as any other domestic cat and eat the same nutritious food that is currently on the market.  Early generation cats are sometimes supplemented with raw or partially cooked meats.

Savannah Cats may sound "ideal", but they are not for everyone.  They are extremely intelligent and act like a member of your family.  They will bond very closely with their owners and enjoy playing an active role.  Most love to walk on a leash and harness, play fetch, and make a huge mess with their water dish!!  Their energy levels are much higher than domestic cats, they can leap and jump 8-10 feet.
